OUR STORY

Vertuous Beauty was born from a simple conviction: Black skin deserves to be a reference, never an adaptation. Created for Black, mixed-race and women with albinism, every piece is imagined from the very beginning with them at the center.

From an early age, cosmetic chemistry became the means to create the beauty we believed should exist. Today, every creation carries that same vision forward: repositioning Black skin as an aesthetic reference through pieces where culture, desirability and craftsmanship meet.

LETTER from the founder

Joan learned that beauty is shaped by what we choose to see. She studied cosmetic chemistry to create the beauty she believed should exist. Vertuous Beauty was born from that conviction: a House where Black skin is the reference from the very beginning.

" I created Vertuous Beauty because I wanted to create the beauty I believed should exist. A Beauty House where Black skin is not an adaptation or an afterthought, but the reference from which everything begins.

Growing up between Cameroonian culture and a French upbringing taught me that beauty is shaped by culture, taste and perspective. Vertuous Beauty is my way of bringing these worlds together through makeup.

I hope these pieces become the ones you return to, not only because they make you look beautiful, but because they remind you of who you are: a woman of taste, elegance and presence."

Joan, Founder and Creative Director.

BLACK CULTURE ELEVATED AS ART DE VIVRE
For the references

Vertuous Beauty draws its inspiration from Cameroonian culture, interpreted through a Parisian lens. The House explores everything that expresses the aesthetics of Black skin: beauty, fashion, art, design, architecture, objects and the art de vivre. Every collection tells a story. Every detail is intentional.

Highly pigmented, creamy makeup infused with skincare.

Each piece of Vertuous Beauty begins with Black skin. Conceived from the very beginning for Black, mixed-race women and women with albinism, each creation brings together formulation, colour, design and storytelling with one intention: to celebrate Black skin as an aesthetic reference.

Formulated in France with precision, our pieces unite craftsmanship, desirability and culture. More than makeup, they are objects of taste designed to be collected, worn and remembered.
